“We had been looking at venues for months and couldn’t find anything that felt special that could be unique to us until we saw 100 Acre Wood. We fell in love with 100 Acre Wood from the moment we saw it. The property is stunning and hearing Mary’s philosophy on weddings and food was a breath of fresh air.

After our first meeting with Mary and Kevin we were confident that they would help us execute the wedding of our dreams, and we were right. They are so passionate and hardworking and will do whatever it takes plus go above and beyond to make sure you’re happy and that your day goes perfectly. Planning (even from Toronto) was a breeze, Mary always answered questions super quickly and gave us excellent recommendations on local vendors when needed.

We had a larger wedding of 150 guests and the food was all prepared and served flawlessly. The food is in a league of its own and is by far the best wedding food we’ve ever had. Same goes for the awesome staff of servers, cooks and bartenders. Our entire family travelled from Toronto and elsewhere to be at our wedding and all seemed to really enjoy a weekend away in the County, spending the rest of the weekend exploring with their families and friends. I could go on forever about how perfect this venue is… It’s honestly unbelievable and if we could get married here again we would!”

“What an incredibly beautiful, intimate, magical place 100 Acre Wood is! From the moment we stepped onto the property we knew it was the perfect place for us. Mary’s vision was completely synonymous with ours, and we knew our wedding day would be in the perfect, most gracious hands. We were not disappointed.

For the months leading up to the wedding, we were expecting the planning process to be a whirlwind of stress and emotions (as many would) but those feelings were completely thwarted thanks to the support of Mary. She answered all of our questions quickly and clearly and offered efficient solutions and support to all of our problems.

The day of the wedding was no different, it was everything we could have dreamed of. Mary and her husband Kevin oozed cheerfulness, warmth and openness who welcomed us and our guests as if we were all family. Their staff were helpful, down to earth and professional and provided excellent service throughout the whole event. Not to mention the food, it was incredible! The meat melted in your mouth, the dips and salads were fresh and booming with flavour, the canapés were beautiful and tasty (It was hard not to fill up before dinner!), and dessert light yet decadent. Dinner being cooked over fire and served family style made for a meal that is still the subject of conversation at get togethers. We all can’t get over how good it was!

Many of our guests have expressed to us that it was the best wedding they have ever been to, it was definitely the best one we could have imagined. There’s something special in the air at 100 Acre Wood and we are lucky to have been a part of it.”

My now-husband and I made short work of our wedding-venue research: we only saw one place. Not because we were lazy or uninterested, but because the moment we saw 100 Acre Wood, we knew it was perfect. Sure, it was covered in snow and still in the construction phase at the time, but it had all the foundations of a magical spot. A bleached-wood chapel! Vintage church pews! Handmade harvest tables! Miles of surrounding fields! But most of all, it was the passion, talents and taste level of husband-wife duo Mary and Kevin that had us sold.

As venue owners who double as caterers (they’re both food-industry veterans) and day-of coordinators, Mary and Kevin paid attention to the mundane details (pathway lighting to the washrooms, overnight parking for guests, volume control for late-night dancing), and had clever ideas for the fun parts (incorporating our favourite snack via a DIY popcorn bar, adding personalized stickers to our midnight snacks, crafting a custom cocktail).

This careful planning paid off big for our guests; throughout the night and in the time since, my guests have gushed that it was the best wedding meal they’ve ever eaten, the most beautiful venue they’ve seen, and, even, the nicest outdoor toilets they’ve ever used. Humbly, I agree with it all. I still dream of the delicious spread that Mary and Kevin cooked (what I wouldn’t do to have the homemade cocktail-hour calzones again, or the halloumi dish from our buffet-style dinner), the special moments my husband and I shared on the 100-acre-deep trail immediately after our ceremony, the view of the fairy-lit chapel from the fire pit. It was a perfect day, and I got to step back and soak it all in. Inspired by the brilliance of Mary and Kevin, my number-one tip for future brides has become, ‘find vendors with better taste than you, and you’ll be all set.’ That’s what you get with 100 Acre Wood.”

“Our wedding at 100 Acre Wood was an absolute dream. It was everything we could have asked for. Open yet intimate, simple yet elegant. It was the perfect county wedding.

Mary could not have been easier or more lovely to work with. Her relaxed and unflappable nature made the planning and wedding day perfectly calming. There was no detail un-attended and no issue not dealt with swiftly and elegantly. No matter what our requests were, how they aligned or did not align with her personal taste or vision, Mary was accommodating and made sure we got everything we wanted from our experience at 100 Acre Wood.

The food. The food was just incredible, but this was no surprise. We were sold on having our wedding at 100 Acre Wood in large part because we were familiar with Kevin’s reputation as a chef and Mary’s as a pastry chef, and they did not disappoint. The food was delicious and abundant, and perfectly suited to our tastes. Each dish was creative, fresh and seasonal. The server’s were almost invisible, yet no glass went unfilled. It’s been months since our wedding now and our guests still go on about the food and experience at 100 Acre Wood.

Thank you Mary and Kevin. The space you have created is very special, thank you for sharing it with us.”
